We can see the flame coming out followed by a BOOM sound.This happened as light is faster than sound.

That's great Shannon and Yanlin! So light travels about 300 000 000 metres per second, which is about 300 000 km in 1 second. So we see it immediately. But sound only travels about 350 metres in 1 second. We were seated about 300-400 metres from the boats, so that is why the sound only reaches us about 1 second later. Good work guys!
