Mating Dance

Attached below is the video we saw the other day showing a bird doing a courtship dance (mating dance).

Do look out for more courtship dance on you tube. If you found any interesting ones, do post the link here for your friends to see them too.

Testing a leaf for the presence of starch

Hi pupils!

Below is a short video showing the test for starch on a leaf. It is similar to the activity we did in school the other day. Do take note of the change of colour in the leaf exposed in the sun.

Science Outdoor Lesson

Last week, the pupils went outdoors to study the different organisms that can be found in some communities. They studied the organisms found in the garden community, the pond community, the field community as well as a single-plant community (banana plant).

Below are some pictures of them exploring the different communities.

Hmmm... I think I saw something there...

Look! Can you see it?

Johnathan pointing out an insect to Mr Jahan.

Nice cotton plant. Don't you agree, Edmund?

Can you see the dead frog?

I don't see any organism in the field.

Maybe, we should look a little closer.

Now, we see them. They are everywhere!

Let's see what we can find on this banana plant.

Mr Jahan! We can't find anything on this plant!

Maybe I should look lower.

It is observed that some communities have only 1 or a few populations living together in a particular habitat whereas other communities seems to have a lot of different populations living together. Why is this so?

A Confusing Problem - Can you solve this?

Mr Pitt shared $200 with his wife, son and twin daughters.

Mr Pitt and his son had a total of $102.

Mrs Pitt got $10 less than her husband.

The twin daughters each got $20 less than the son.

Can you solve how much did everyone get?
